Throughout my life, art has been a celebration of movement and discovery. All my work explores themes of exploration, adaptation, and the beauty of transition—the dual joys of setting roots while also reaching for new horizons. Having lived on multiple continents, I believe strongly in the transformative power of place and experience and seek to share that through my art.

In my work, I gravitate towards oil painting, where I find freedom and energy. My series, like “The Explorer” and “The World Citizen,” focus on themes of belonging, growth, and the journey of discovering new perspectives. Rather than seeing challenges, these works celebrate the shared human spirit and the incredible diversity of experience and culture that shape who we are.

I hope my work brings positivity and inspiration, celebrating the joy of movement, discovery, and our deep, human desire to connect with each other and the world around us. Through my art, I aim to honor the beauty of these shared experiences.

Portrait Work

I hold a special place in my heart for painting portraits. To me, a portrait is more than just a representation; it should tell a story that breathes life into the artwork. I am deeply intentional about the portraits I choose to create, as they are my most time-intensive pieces and require me to connect with and fall in love with the story behind them. This connection allows me to capture the true essence of a life, making each portrait a deeply personal and fulfilling journey. Portraits are, without a doubt, the most satisfying work I do.

Series Work

My series works are collections of paintings centered around themes that deeply resonate with me or messages I feel compelled to share with the world. These pieces are bold expressions of my emotions, intended to provoke thought, spark questions, and evoke feelings that may be unfamiliar to the viewer. I see them as both a call to action and my personal form of activism. With each series, I take on the responsibility of conveying my perspective to the world, approaching this task with both great care and creative freedom.

Biography

My journey in art began in childhood when, alongside my brother, I transformed a 5x3m corridor wall into my first canvas—a vast space that ignited my imagination and remains one of my most cherished creative memories. Although art began as a hobby, it quickly became clear that I had a deep and enduring connection to it.

In 2006, I pursued formal training in architecture at the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, followed by a master’s in design at Harvard University, where I focused on sustainability. Throughout my academic journey, art remained my sanctuary—a space for sketches, portfolio designs, architectural renderings, and exhibitions. It has always been my avenue for self-expression, where I reconnect with joy and creative freedom.

After completing my master’s, I spent a decade in Los Angeles, working in architecture, design, and sustainability consulting. Immersed in California’s breathtaking natural landscapes and vibrant art scene, I continued to paint and sketch whenever possible. Art became a source of solace and inspiration, helping me navigate the dynamic blend of professional challenges and family life. I owe a deep gratitude to my wife, Kanika, whose unwavering support and encouragement gave me the confidence to pursue this artistic journey boldly.
